The Board

With dimensions of 12′ – 45″ – 8″, the Titan has a monstrous surface area that can accommodate some serious weight. Comfortably designed for 2-3 people while paddling, the Titan will remain rigid and stable even when loaded up to its carrying capacity of 500 lbs.

Owing to its construction, the Titan is 35% lighter than comparable multi-person models making it far more user-friendly on the water as well as being easier to transport. Like many other quality inflatables, the board is constructed from dual layers of military grade PVC which are wrapped around a very dense drop-stitch core.

Drop-stitch construction uses thousands of polyester threads that are connected to the outer layers of fabric which is what enables the board to maintain its shape once inflated. This method of construction makes the boards particularly rigid and durable so they can withstand impacts with rocks and other floating debris or if accidentally dropped.

Profile view of the Peak Titan Multi Person SUP

While the Titan was certainly not designed to be a performance oriented board, 2 paddlers (with passenger) can still comfortably move through the water with relative ease.

Once you have managed to coordinate your paddling strokes, the board tracks well through the water owing to its large centre fin which is nicely complemented by the smaller side fins which help aid overall paddling and manoeuvrability. With a slight front rocker (upward turned nose) the Titan glides reasonable well across the waters surface.

Two of the biggest features of the Titan are its 45″ width and 8″ thickness. These dimensions are a massive plus when it comes to stability and buoyancy which is really what its all about when it comes to multi-purpose boards. Many of us will no doubt recall trying to pile on to an inflatable when we were kids only to see who would be the last to fall off. You would have to make a serious effort to flip or sink this one so fear not, the fishing rod, drinks and cooler are now in safe hands.

External Board Features

Whilst perhaps less important than a typical all-round or special purpose paddle board where features are tailored to suit a specific style of paddling, the Titan still has a handful of features which are designed to enhance your overall paddling experience.

Grad Handles
:
I would challenge you to find a SUP that has more handles than the Titan. With front, centre, rear and 6 separate well spaced side grab handles, the Titan has 9 durable and comfortable carry handles making the board very easy to transport once inflated. The handles can also double as accessories attachment points and also make it easy to connect when towing or if attaching multiple boards together.

Deck Traction Pad: deck padding is important for both comfort and traction on all paddle boards. With in excess of two-thirds of the boards surface covered in a dimpled soft EVA foam, the board can comfortably accommodate multiple riders or your dog whether you’re standing or kneeling whilst paddling or for general leisure or exercise. The padding is also embossed with the Peak signature logo which adds to its striking appearance.

Bungee System: the 6-point front bungee system is similar to what we would see on other all-round boards. It is Peak Titan Multi Person SUP Features

generously sized providing ample room for storage of your dry bag, water bottles or other personal effects. The 6 D-rings can also double as accessories attachment points.

Fins: its a big boy so definitely needs some assistance in manoeuvring through the water. The detachable tool-less 9″ centre fin snaps into position in seconds allowing for easy attachment and removal when packed into the travel bag. It is this fin that enables the board to hold a straight line whilst paddling so even for a board of this size, it still tracks quite well. The 4 quad side fins (side bites) also aid direction and manoeuvrability when making turns or changes in direction while paddling.

Inflation Values: given its size, the Titan has two Halkey Roberts inflation valves neatly tucked away at the tail of the board. With dual pumps, the board can be easily inflated or deflated in tandem to its recommended 15 psi in only a few minutes. This is a really useful feature given its size so a nice touch from the manufacturers.

Accessories

Included within the package:

Paddles: the 2 x 3-piece paddles are fully adjustable to suit paddlers of all heights. Made from aluminium they will definitely do the job but if you are looking for a more performance based light-weight paddle then its worth investing in a carbon Peak Titan Multi Person SUP Accessories Package

shaft paddle. Much lighter and stiffer and typically coupled with a better quality blade, carbon paddles are a whole while investment and will definitely enhance paddling efficiency and performance.

Pumps: the package comes with 2 durable GRI high pressure single chamber dual action pumps making for easy board inflation in a matter of minutes.

For those looking to take to the water on a regular basis, it is definitely well worth investing in an electric pump unless of course you enjoy a nice little pre-paddling pumping workout. To learn more check out our Top 5 Electric Pumps which will give you a nice summary of what’s on the market.

Travel Bag: the durable duffle bag contains a large centre opening with sufficient room to fit the deflated SUP and all board accessories. It has 2 large shoulder carry straps plus grab handles on either end.

The package also includes a bonus waterproof cell phone holder with lanyard.

The Verdict

The Titan is a well constructed multi-person board that is perfect for family and friends. Offering a huge surface area and loads of carrying capacity, the board can comfortably accommodate 2-3 paddlers or even more if you’re simply looking for a mini floating dock to play around on. While it is not designed to be a performance based board, it’s rigidity and stability coupled with the multi-fin system still allow for a nice recreational paddle in both flat water and mild choppy water conditions.

For those looking for a quality all-round multi-person board, the PEAK 12′ Titan should definitely be on your short list.

  1. Hey there, hope you’re doing well.

I have bought a few other paddleboards from Amazon before, but most of them were cheap at less than $100.

This one may be a little bit pricier, but I do not doubt in my mind that it’s worth the price. It’s better to pay a few dollars more than to be cheap like myself and regret it afterwards.

My friend actually recommended your review, and she told me that she bought the same board before the start of the summer.

She praised it by saying that it was very stable and could carry her, her dog, and more of her friends. (just what I’m looking for)

Anyways, I’m buying it, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I try it out myself!

    • Nice one Gorjan. If you’re after a multi-person board then this is a pretty good option. Not cheap but as you point out, you do tend to get what you pay for so do your research and I’m sure you’ll come up with what works best for you.

Do let me know if you buy this one though – would be interested in your thoughts.

      Thanks – Jason.

  2. This is a great idea for my property at the lake. Could use it as a small party barge. I like that it will hold three people. I also like that you could use it for fishing.
Other than the bungee strap upfront is there any way to attach a cooler for drinks while you are out on the water?

    • Hi John. Yes you have the bungee cargo netting on the front but you can extend this as well using your own expandable straps and attaching them to the D-rings or grab handles. There are a bunch of ways to accessorise your board including submergible drinks bags that hang off the D-rings and remain cool in the water as well. With a board of this size, if you are simply using it as a floating platform, a large cooler will be fairly stable under its own weight as well so I’m sure you’ll work out what best works for you.

Enjoy and all the best – Jason.

  3. Thanks for this review. I have been wanting to get a paddle board, it looks like great fun. I am 6’5″ and 260lbs so it was good to see this one would hold me with its weight capacity being 500lbs. So are most boards inflatable? Is there a big difference in quality with inflatable and rigid boards?

    • Hey Rob,

The Titan is a multi-person board but the majority on quality paddle boards will still comfortably cater for someone of your size (you dwarf me by the way). Take a look at Aztron URONO 11’6” or ISLE Explorer 11’ or Boardworks Kraken 11’. There are a bunch of other board reviews on this site but a larger board would best suit someone such as yourself – size considered. Epoxy boards have certainly been around for much longer than inflatables although with technology, iSUPs have come along way (Are Inflatables Any Good) so do your shopping as I’m sure you’ll find an option that you’ll be comfortable with.

All the best and drop me a line if you need any guidance. – Jason.
